Origin and Properties of the Ingredients

Pumice is a light, soft, volcanic rock formed from rapidly cooled lava. Due to the rapid cooling process, it does not form sharp-edged crystals and is therefore, in finely ground form, an extremely gentle yet effective cleaning material. Soda and soap provide the good fat and dirt dissolving power of the cleaning agent. Once the dirt is dissolved, the natural clay absorbs it due to its excellent swelling and binding capacity and carries it away. The essential oils from sage and a myrtle plant (cajeput) smell pleasant and have germ-inhibiting effects.
